1987 Corvette Overview
The C4 in 1987 saw slight changes in suspension packages offer a Z52 sport package that offered a wider wheel, 9.5”, along with a heavy duty cooling system and Bilstein shocks. Although this year Corvette continued to show a decline in overall production numbers, while the convertibles saw a growth in numbers. Not only did the ’87 model continue the use of aluminum heads, but also offered a B2K option that was priced at a moderate $19,995 for a Callaway Twin Turbo system that boosted the C4 to 345hp and 465lb-ft of torque. This option was for the extreme sports car enthusiast that had some cash to spare, with the total cost being $47,994 for coupes and $53,167 for convertibles. In total only 184 Callaway Twin Turbo Corvettes were produced with 65 being convertibles, ensuring the collector car status of this limited make.
